The Periodic Table of Data Science

Data science encompasses a wide range of methods whose terms often appear unconnected. This taxonomy arranges twenty core methods on the model of the chemical periodic table. It enables a structured analysis of projects, product demonstrations and proposed solutions: which methods are applied, how they interact and which are missing.

Rows ↓ Data maturity, from raw data to validated insights Columns → Analytical activity, from acquisition to evaluation

Quantum appendix: methods beyond classical computing, set apart like the lanthanides

About this table

Methodological note

No official periodic table of data science exists. The present arrangement is a deliberately chosen taxonomy intended for orientation rather than as a normative classification. It comprises 20 elements across five maturity stages and five activities, together with a quantum extension.
